My Story
Amarnath Pallath
The spark to publish a book was an off-the beat experience when I acted in a drama four years ago. Though I used to write, to venture into an author of published books was immediately after I was on stage at my college, NSS College of Engineering, Palakkad, Kerala. The drama was written, directed and presented by the Kerala Sahithya Academy award winner Shemej Kumar. Spanish Artist Salvador Dali’s “Persistence of Memory” with the melting time clock was the theme of the drama. My first book was a Malayalam Novel where memories persisted and a novel was born. The second book, an AMAZON best seller, was co-authored with my daughter Divya Vikas Amarnath and her husband Vikas Harikumar. An art form that brought out the algorithms of the book “Unravel Relationship Algorithms” was created by my grandson Darsh Vikas.
The interludes of time during the lockdown period were an opportunity propelled by what I used to read from the books of celebrities and some unknown. I conducted research in the form of an inquiry into the depths of the human beings and why they behave in one form or the other.
Trying to understand why a book is born, made me write more. Observing society and nature was part of me. I used to scribble bits and pieces that competed and complemented my thoughts and in the crucible, thoughts melted and words flew. I write and empty out space from my thought shelves and the books go to print bringing in the idea of Persistence of Memories. Some memories are rigid, some melting but what is in the chamber of the memory box still awaits, not fading away.
I write, because I am basically a bundle of memories + flesh and blood.
